I honestly have no idea how it's made. They cremate them, I think do/add something to the ashes, and put them in a glass piece. My mom just chose round beads but I'm pretty sure you can get hearts or other shapes. You can also choose what color you want added to the ashes. My mom did blue for her dad and red for her mom. Her dad's looks kind of like this

Ohhhh okay! Cool, I have seen this done before but just forgot I guess. I've also seen the ones where they make a big heart shaped paperweight but that seems worse than being shoved in the ground.
