This is true. Manic-depression doesn't always listen to reality tho.

Me: Life is pretty great lately!

Shitty me (she lives in the back of my brain): Matt will probably die in a bike crash, your house will burn down the day after you close on it, and everyone hates you. Oh, also your boss probably thinks your work sucks ya frizzy haired harridan.

They key is to outrun shitty me, she's fat and slow

Wait, have you walked over 27K steps today? I was on my feet a huge part of the day (granted, lots of not walking but standing on said feet while I changed locks) and am only at 8507. I did not walk the dog today but plan to tonight so I should hit at least 11 K.

I'm trying to hit 35-40 before the end of the day because I slacked a few days this week. I normally would be at like 120k for the week right now, but i'm only at 106k. I sat on my butt yesterday!

8500 is really good dude! I'm just a major overachiever with steps.

I don't think it's physically possible for me to get 27K steps in unless I marched in place while cooking or something. But I do have a desk job M-F which requires sitting due to the computer and all.

When we were in Vegas and walking everywhere I think my highest day was only 22K!

I'm also going to swim tonight, and I'm always bummed those "kicks" don't register as steps, but hey it counts as overall exercise so I'm good with that.

You go girl. My goal is like 70-80K per week. Most weeks I can make that. Some weeks, no. Just depends!

I mean, I have a desk job too - I just have a walking desk that Matt built to the perfect height (and then a color coordinated step for me to use while I work) haha! Matt also has one over at his job cause we both get too antsy to sit all day. I've also found just getting faster helps. I can top out at like 8k+ from an hour if I'm energetic and I usually get a big # of my steps from working out and walking the doggos. I usually go for the 15-20k range most days but I do bigger days once a week or so cause I hike a lot and a 15 mile hike is much easier when you are hitting that type of distance once week or more.

I wish other things counted for steps sometimes! My roller blading counts for a big fat goose egg, and I bike across town instead of taking the jeep some days and I'm usually too wiped to get many steps in. It was 90 degrees the other day and after I biked uphill, I pretty much melted into my recliner when I got home. I like to hit my goals tho, so here I am today.

I'm just crazy town. I get blue real easily, and keeping my feet occupied helps a good bit. I also got fat for awhile, and I'd rather not go back to that unpleasant time.

70k is a really good goal! Getting 10k steps in a day is super good for your health!

I usually leave shitty me for dead in the middle of a long hike when she's getting too mouthy. I used to eat a lot of cake until I didn't have feelings anymore, but that didn't go so well for me.

This weekend I compromised and did a bunch of steps plus had some molten lava cake from my fave place in town. It cancels out or something, right?

(yes, I know that's not how that works, shhhh)

I caught a survey comet hit. I didn't want to. I didn't even think I was qualified for those. How terrible are they?
