my Civic has began to see more problems the last couple years, but it is old now. overall though - it’s hard to beat a Civic

Mine is starting to need some major work. It started overheating and I've already replaced a few related cheap things. The water pump and timing belt arrived in the mail this week, so that better take care of things.

Mine is starting to need some major work. It started overheating and I've already replaced a few related cheap things. The water pump and timing belt arrived in the mail this week, so that better take care of things.
i had a weird problem with mine a couple months ago. it stopped reading my key when i tried to start it up. at the time i had no idea what was wrong with it. thought the engine was dead or something. had to get a new key made.

also had to replace the timing belt too a year ago now i think it’s been

That is really weird. I'm surprised that hasn't happened to me because the this-shouldn't-be-happening-wtf things tend to find me. haha My step-father-in-law was a master mechanic for Mercedes for 30 years, so I'm hoping he's up for this project. :ROFL:

ETA: I'm really interested in seeing what the current timing belt looks like. Probably partially mangled. I wanna know.

oh God this brought up a cringy memory. I was in elementary school and the teacher was doing attendance and the person called before me said 'present' so I thought we were saying random words so I said the first word that popped into my head, 'lizard', and everyone just stared at me.
