I hate carpet.

yep, feel the same, ripped out all mine a few years ago. with animals having carpet is pretty stupid. Hardwood floor or GTFO

Exactly. Much easier to keep clean. Half the time I just bend over, swipe my hand around the edges, pick up wads of pet hair and dust and there ya go...clean.

(However, under my bed...not so clean. When winter gets here that is a chore I have to tackle.)

but......the dog is partial to plastic (he chews it). And I'm thinking that I'd wind up heartbroken (and roomba broken) in the end

I want one, too. But my house was built in two stages, and for some reason when they added on what is now the living room they did not make the floors the same height, so we have two annoying 1.5" steps from our living room (one goes into the kitchen, the other into the hallway). I have to warn people who come over about them or they trip (well, they still trip as they forget). No roomba is making it up over those steps, unfortunately.

My brother has one and loves it, but he has no animals who would chew on it or chase it like a toy, lol.

So I think my kid was trying to get the "vacuum the living room and vacuum-dust it, too" qual revoked this summer. It was his job over the summer to do both tasks, and my vacuum, which has a sensor on it and has a red light for when it's still sucking up particles, and a green light saying "this area of the floor is clean, move on" had a red light on for a very long time when I vacuumed. Took me forever to get the floor clean. I looked at the kid and said, "Dude, nice try to get out of vacuuming. From now on I'm going to spot check your work and if it's in the "red" you have to do more work until it's in the "green". And oh, you'll lose video game time, too."

It's so hard to get good data out of workers these days.

We had a Roomba. And a dog. And the dog decided to poop in the house while we were gone. And the Roomba did what Roobma's do. Bad, bad, bad deal. So think about that or if your dog is a puker.

I got 3 surveys with the not a bot captcha check this morning, so I guess many researchers are panicking over this already.

I asked my participants their feeling toward KKK and the Nazi party from 0=most unfavorable to 100=most favorable, and 50 is mid point. For non-repeating GPSer they are 8.90 and 8.21, but for repeaters they are 60.82 and 60.02. It seems to me that it is more likely that the repeaters are giving random responses than truly have found something likable about KKK and Nazi party.
