That's what I need. A handyman. Around here, they charge 40/hour - which I think is way too much.
But, I'm like Murphy Brown and her secretaries.............My first guy was a pedophile (for real, not just an oops she was how old). The second kept coming late and telling me about fights with his g/friend and his depression. (Um, I hired you to work and all).
I'm in the market for my 3rd one......

I bet around here, if they're self-employed, they charge $40/hr as well. I think that's a pretty standard price when you get someone to come and do a few jobs. My friend isn't self-employed because then he'd have to have his own tools/equipment(he has some but, would need everything), he'd have to deal with advertising, and quotes, and scheduling, and insurance(usually the biggest cost). He does side jobs like that occasionally but, he was hired as a 'maintenance man' and makes around $20/hr(which is standard around here for that position $16-21), and just works for one employer, at one location, for a set 9-5 M-F.
