I'm positive that just that Bell was a HAM radio buff and took dialogue seriously is what really crafted that show. I mean, it's lost across the board. I look at some of the hour long sit down talk shows on TV in the 60s with a couple people puffing on cigarettes and seriously hamming out their political or philosophical beliefs and am gobsmacked at how petty and trivial our consumption of media has become. ...and we have the damned internet.
