You go to the premiere steakhouse in Japan with the most expensive beef, ... they drop a pad of butter on the iron.

I've eaten a lot of acid. I guess that makes up for it.
Heh, at least you've got an excuse :) All I can say is, every so often I get curious about what the youths are listening to, and to my surprise it frequently isn't hard to find stuff I like. shrug.gif

No worries about Angel Haze. I bet I'm at least as old as you...I like her attitude :)

...oh shit. All respect to Mozart, but that made me think of my favorite version of Ave Maria, which I first heard in high school choir and have trouble finding now...and I have never, ever heard this version before, and now I'm gonna have to go cry all over my (qualled, sorry) queue. (I'm a girl, sometimes we bawl randomly, it happens. :p)

(cool talking music though, I haven't thought about a lot of those songs in way too long. Thanks)

That doesn't mean anything though, I can leave with lacrimosa...

but no. I'm guess I'm just a little old... Angel Haze is like an irritant when I was trying to get drunk at the bar.
ethereal, which is a good, esp around here. :) Great post!

It's certainly cheaper than narcotics. I do smoke just a tad (but NEVER while working 'cause those two elements just don't work together. and I don't have a "source" for that stuff anymore). But I can't help but think that everyone should be better than I am.

I fully realize that we all do what we need to do to survive, but inherent in that self-confession is an admission that we can do BETTER if we can find the way--and the fortitude--to do that. It's a CONSTANT battle. :) That's why I admire Devil_Dog so much: he seems to be entirely normal, and I envy that.

I figure so long as I have a better life than a farmer in India with 12 kids who has to get up in the morning at 4 and walk three miles just to get water ... I'm pretty lucky.

Pardon me if I'm being "preachy."
Sing it, brother, I'll do the chorus. Sometimes life just beats the shit outta you--usually when you're not looking.

I grew up "anti-catholic" because my entire family was catholic. The shit they do didn't and doesn't make sense to me.

HOWEVER!

I was engaged to a Greek woman and it was a given that we'd be married in an Orthodox church (regardless of the fact that I don't believe in it.) .. lemme just say Greeks have Catholics beat hands down. You live in a village in the middle of Italy and you just sit at a cafe on Sunday. You live in a village in Greece and you are at the cafe because you're a freak of nature.

It does, and always has thru time immemorial. The advantage we have today is that is relatively easy to find others who suffer life as we do--friends like you--with whom we can commensurate and help each other. What is the saying? A problem shared is a problem halved?

Oh, hey, fair enough. I wasn't raised to believe anything in particular, and of all the different types of Christians that have gotten in my face about Jesus I can't say Catholics ever have. So liturgical music is just pretty singing to me.

Orthodoxy sounds kinda, um, militant just from that description (although maybe this isn't the best subject for the main thread, apologies if so)

Hmmm. I completed a survey on Prolific that paid £1.07, and now I see that the same survey is up on Mturk for $0.50.
