I assumed you were an OG Mturker. I'm talking about those who joined around and after me (Winter of last year/spring of this year) who are flooding all the forums. I'm banking on those folks dwindling out and getting discouraged lol

EDIT: except for Kennedy @Kennedy who I think joined mturk around the same time I did.
Thanks. And I love that itty bitty tool box next to my name :D I was commenting just last night on here that since I started lurking before I joined (lurk Jan 2018/join June 2018) I noticed a ton of new people that seem to go gangbusters for like 1-2 weeks and then are done. I don't think people realize how much effort and time mturk can take to make just a little bit of money. They see the ones who have been here a long time, have a Masters, and know all the scripts and think "I should be able to do that by next Tuesday!"

Can't go back in time. All messed up wording too. Should have known they'd screw up and give no code at the end. I usually would put in my ID and send an email. Seeing their screwed up survey steered me away from doing that. I had no faith.

My favorite metal band is Iron Maiden. But my music tastes trip people up because my favorite bands are all over the place and my taste in music is fairly eccentric for most people.
When I was 19 I went to Finland simply because the girls who had been exchange students said that no one would ever visit them once they left. One girl played me a bunch of songs from a Finnish band, Leningrad Cowboys. One night, sitting at a bar in Kuopio, Finland, I got so wasted I could barely even speak English. I ended up hanging out with the bass player from Leningrad Cowboys, an audio engineeer, and two brothers Saku and Marko... Marko, who went on to be the singer for Nightwish.

That would be awesome imo
Most people seem to get angry or frustrated because they would prefer to stick with Top 40's radio or they don't like the inconsistency. There's some research on how people are tied to music on a psychological level and their personality type. I actually want to do more research on it when I get a Ph.D, but that's many many years down the road.

Nightwish is cool! I've seen them live twice on tours that I was around to see someone else. Either way, that is a killer story about a killer band! Also most days I feel like I need to get so drunk I can barely speak english these days. Haha.

I'm sure this won't stick with many people, as it's metalcore. But their story is nothing short of inspirational. Their guitarist died of cancer a few years ago at 28 and put out two records and was touring while battling the cancer. The drummer is his brother and is continuing the band in his brothers name. The two songs have been written about the grief and pain of his death and you can just feel the power and emotion of the band coming together for his brother. Knowing the hell they've been going through since his death and still continuing for him is amazing. I know most people wont' like the tune because it's crazy heavy.
That's awesome. This song is awesome. I love Epitaph, they have great bands on their label.

Until you sit in a car with me and the playlist goes from jazz to new wave to metalcore to hip hop to classic rock to EDM to K/JPop to folk/acoustic and then back into some rock tunes. Haha.
Nah I get it. Most of that isn't my bag but I listen to some really weird shit. I got really into Hank Williams lately, and am very lucky my husband is enjoying it too, though we both pretty much can't stand country (modern). I get very bored with music very quickly.

Yeah Brett Gurewitz was smart to keep Bad Religion independent and then run bands through that label. Especially with having The Offsprings Smash in their discography. It's also the highest selling independent album ever, and probably will never be surpassed since album sales don't really happen anymore.

Notice how I never put country in there. It's the only genre of music that makes me want to vomit and contemplate murder at the same time. Johnny Cash is about as deep as I get in the country rabbit hole. The rest of it needs to be taken out back and put to rest quicker than Old Yeller.

When I was 17 I drank some very good beer. I drank some very good beer that I purchased with a fake ID. My name was Brian McGee. I stayed up listening to Queen. When I was 17.

morning :) coming in late. how's it goin?
Some people are discussing the end of mturk
Others are working on a 2016 election survey that reposted because, well, who knows
And others are working on a single survey that decided to break into 30 tiny survey's with 30 even smaller survey codes......

Plus my daughter is angry because she asked me how she looked in her leggings. (Her fault, she asked....and yes, they are too tight :(

The only reason country music is what it is today is because Henry Ford was an unapologetic racist who vehemently detested jazz music and poured millions of dollars into country music production.
Gross.
