I am an electrician. Perhaps not exactly what most think of as an electrician. I work on machines, and don't do any of the high voltage "fun" stuff. I will tell you that they are desperate for electricians (and other trades such as welders and pipefitters) all over the country in various aspects. The trick is finding an apprenticeship. Last year they were looking for lineman apprentices out here and they make really good money.

Indiana. But, yeah, you should be able to. I'd locate and contact local IBEW unions (or other trades union, but I don't know what they are) and ask questions about apprenticeship testing.
