Yeah after doing tests, they found out she had Long QT syndrome. So basically it could happen at any time again in the future. So she's got an ICD (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator) chillin on her heart, so it auto shocks her. It's been almost 10 years now though and hasn't happened again.we've actually talked about that here and I don't think we came to a conclusive answer lol. Also...a heart attack at 13? wow
The whole thing was totally bizarre. She was at soccer practice at the school. The track field is open to the community. The doctor who saved her life just so happened to be there because his wife walks there, and the friend she usually goes with was sick, so she asked her husband to go. The doctor? He was the one that pushed for defibrillators in the school, which had just been 3 months earlier. There are tons more things that were like WTH how did all of that come together.
