I see that one on amazon for 139 bucks. Think it is worth it?
I'd say yes, but I've only been using it for like 10 minutes :p I'd recommend going to your local Best Buy and messing around with whatever they have on display if that's an option for you. Plan on doing just that when I get off today

What did you get? Been thinking of getting one myself.
Here is the one I have, but I have the "retro typewriter-style" key caps on mine.

Mine looks like this:

*edit* Except my lighting is set to all medium purple, with certain keys (WASD, Shift, Ctrl, Space, Enter, Arrow keys, 84562 on the keypad...) set to a nice light blue.
Everyone seems to like it and at least 2 family members have threatened to steal it, so that's nice.

*edit 2* Hey! I found a picture of mine. Neat.

I have a G910 (Best buy) and an IBM from 1984 (from the attic) and they're both spectacular. They're loud, but I wouldn't ever go back to flat keys. I find I have a lot less wrist and finger fatigue somehow, and the clickity clackity sound sets my heart on fire.

Just gonna jump right in the middle of y'alls conversation. How is it with lots and lots of typing? I keep wearing out the letters on my keyboards and somehow digging holes into them with my nails. I know I don't need to see the letters but I like being able to.

I've had the strafe one in my wishlist for a while, just haven't gotten around to getting it.

An entire new set of keycaps is only $12 (for the typewriter-style ones. Less for "normal" ones, I believe). So buy a spare :p.
I used to do the same bloody thing, cause I have some long-ish nails (guitar player), but these keys are holding up, so far. My Razer Lycosa, with its matte finished keys, was just... gone. Like 12 keys were blank and had all the black scratched off in about 2 years.
This one I've had for just under a year now, and it's gotten "slick/polished" on a couple keys, from constantly using them, but none had worn down yet.

I do a lot of typing and find that these keyboards (mechanical) are much easier on the wrists and fingers. Also slows me down a little bit (in a good way).

It's like the perfect spot between a new style computer keyboard and a typewriter, for me. (I mean manual typewriters, not electric)

I used a strafe with mx cherry brown switches for about the last 2 years now. I love love love it. Totally worth the investment if you type alot. Honestly mine looks brand new.

the guy i used to share an office with had the L O U D E S T mechanical keyboard and

all the keys were blank by design
It's admittedly gross when my husband is home using his keyboard on the other side of the room. I have to ask him to not type if I'm doing any kind of recording :\

I remember looking this up before, but what were the more quieter keys? I know they're supposed to be all clicky-clacky but sometimes that gets on my nerves.

Good to know. I type way too much, so def need something easier on the fingers.

Well I'm sold. Time to get into some more debt.
