Wow. Just voted. I have NEVER seen a line at my polling places, not even on a presidential election, and they are usually ghost towns on midterms.
But there was a huge line today.
I think the line was longer because some people who don't look at where their polling place is. Mine kind of rotates between a couple of places and today while waiting I heard a few people proclaim when they weren't on the sign in list "But I've always voted here! Why would it change?" Mine moved this year from last year. So we had to wait while they filled out for a provisional ballot. Or those who are on the "inactive" list, or those who were supposed to mail in and also had to fill in a provisional.
Despite having to wait so long, I'm super stoked to see so many people voting! My kid was stunned. He goes with me every year to vote. He said he can't remember ever waiting in a line, either, he had no clue there *could* be lines at polling places, lol!
