I have a heavy wire shelf next to the side door - with all of my plants on it. I put them there right before I went out to work in the garden and get things ready for snow (it's coming).
They were right there. I must have looked there at least half a dozen times........

I got an i3 Dell Optiplex 790 for $40 on craigslist with a brand new mouse and keyboard, and you can usually find $20 monitors around 22" in size.

It's not mobile like a laptop, but I don't go anywhere anyway.

S. VT. But I don't live on a hill. I had brand new all season tires last year - and it was mostly okay (except when there was brand new snow - just falling, heavy). But once it falls, no - it doesn't really melt till spring.

A refurbished thinkpad is a pretty decent deal. Depending on the model, they're indestructible as well

I feel pretty done with PC though. Since I switched to iPhone, I've been looking at a Macbook Pro for my wife and I. I've heard that they last very long.
