I have a family friend who is 7'1". He auto-ducks door ways, but archways... they get him, sometimes. NEVER ceases to be funny, but still, I understand the pain, there.

Yea and it pissed me off as a tall person. Jack Reacher is the same height as me. His size is important because of the intimidate factor and it's heavily implied in the books. 5'6" ain't intimidating nothing. However, I enjoyed the first movie, but I would have enjoyed it a lot more had I not read the books

Yes, the height thing disappointed me a bit, too, but one of the cores of Reacher's personality is that he can kick six guys asses rapidly and with little effort. I've got about eight of the books and just keep re-reading them over and over. Good stuff!
