Apparently his laywer is going to give a judge papers that will prove his innocence on the 20th and he'll be out of jail.

I don't know if he's guilty or not, but I don't feel like he had a fair trial and a lot of things happened during the investigation that shouldn't have.

That poor other guy is still in jail when everyone said he would be getting out.
If you watch the documentary as someone who has no experience in the law or law enforcement, you might think that.
Dude's guilty as hell if you have any experience in police protocol whatsoever.
Dassey is likely innocent.
Avery killed Hallbach, there is absolutely no doubt.
Avery may have not gotten a fair trial, but his lifelong career as a total fucking scumbag didn't help his case. They gloss over that QUITE A BIT in the documentary (ie; the story of burning the cat -- he wasn't an innocent kid who made a mistake. He burned a fucking cat alive and laughed at it -- he's also got a history of domestic violence and generally being a hothead. Not to mention his low IQ means he wouldnt necessarily appreciate or care about consequences. It's likely that he might be on the autism spectrum).
That said, in a fair trial, Avery is still guilty, 100%.
The attorney here is doing her best to keep her name out there, associated with overturning convictions.
She'll write a book about how Avery got railroaded, or about how great she is if she somehow convinces them that he's innocent.
Either way, Steven Avery is just a paycheck for her.

Criminal Justice major here....so yes I do have experience and still think differently than you.
What in the case file, if anything, makes you doubt his guilt? This is an open and shut case.
Pretend you never saw the series and just look it over.
99% of the arguments they made in the documentary are based on the viewer's ignorance of police procedure and the science of forensics.

I didn't watch it and don't keep up with it so idk much about it and have no opinions.
The series completely ignores the evidence of his guilt, so yes. The point was to make you think a certain way. A lot of people did, apparently.
