Jerami @Jerami

how often do you shave the sides of your head? i’ve done it every so often since the past Summer. i royally screwed up then, but after 3-4 times i *think* i’ve gotten better

i did a 3 on the sides last week but it doesn’t really look like a 3. maybe it’s because i have lengthy hair up top. someone commented that they liked my hair the other day and i was like ah yeaa
Not often at all. Right now I'm growing it out so 6 months ago. But, normally when I do, I don't do it but once every 2-3 months. I don't go super short anymore and I fade from like a 1 to a 5 so, it's a pain in the ass to do it all the time. When I was much younger, I'd do it all one length. I'd do it every 3weeks to a month back then.

Plus, I'm not trying to impress anyone so, I go longer than you should if you're still on the market.:)

I'm sure you don't really care what I think, but my advice would be to just have a traditional haircut. That's usually most flattering and allows you to present yourself in the best manner.

However, take what I say with a grain of salt, because I'm somewhat of a boring and conservative person in how I dress , wear my hair, etc. :)

Great advice. What he's describing, in my mind, is a modern traditional men's haircut. So, I think you agree with him. In this instance, the term shave doesn't really mean shave, just cut with clippers. The number 3 guard to which he's referring is about 3/8" or almost half an inch, and his hair is longer on top to be parted or pushed back, but not long. So, short on the sides and back, leave a bit on the top. Sounds pretty standard men's cut. Just updated so he doesn't look like Opie.:p

Just saying I think we all agree. Unless I'm misunderstanding you.:) Or I could be misunderstanding him, I guess.

EDIT I care what you think, to a reasonable extent.:)

I didn't think what he was describing was a wacky haircut. I was unsure of how long the longer part of his hair was in his cut, though.

Peaches live by different rules, though. I mustn't forget that.:p

Cool. I was worried that I may have been misunderstanding him, when you said that. I was thinking I was describing something reasonabley conservative, that I've been getting for probably 28 years. Your post made me second guess what I was telling the poor kid to do and what he was actually asking.

But I was afraid you thought I was talking about one of these(.5-1 guard)

Just didn't want you to think I was trying to steer the guy into Disneyland.:p
and that I agree. It's just hard for men(differently from women) when we wear our hair short. It can turn into a pain if you cut it too often or not often enough, etc as far as it being uncomfortable.(Random predominantly guy problem[and women with short hair]):)

I've seen some of the young guys wearing their hair like in that last photo, and I don't think it's a good look.

I understand having the same haircut forever. I've had Niki Taylor's haircut from the 90s since I was very, very young (the length of my bangs might change a bit from time to time). I'm not trendy at all. :p
