I didn't even know there were states where you can't pump your own gas. Interesting.

I think Oregon is one as well.

I decided not to go to work this evening. I spent most of last week driving home with it being slick, because apparently the only time it precipitates around here is in time to slick things up at midnight. It is raining/being gross/turning to snow and the temps are supposed to plummet, and mentally I just can not handle it today for some reason.
But, perhaps I can make chili later if I find the recipe that is lost somewhere around here.

I have a broccoli soup in the crockpot. I think I'm going to add an aged cheese .

I thought it was awful when I first moved to Oregon. But honestly, it's nice to stay in your car when it's pouring rain or freezing.

In jersey, it's illegal to pump your own gas. I LOVE that. we have one station in our area that does that (it's actually over the border in MA). But just one.........

Honestly, when it's like 5 degrees outside, it's a real pleasure to sit in your car and let the attendant do their thing

I'm glad I don't live in NJ because of this. I don't like interacting with people much, and being able to get my own gas without talking to a single person is nice. I almost always use self-checkout at stores too when it's available.

Hand them your card, get it back, roll up the window. They don't usually employ enough people for the attendants to stand around and chat.
Edit: But I totally get it. I've switched gas stations because of awkward "we should go on a date" conversations (married with a kid in the car).

Yea, it is minimal interaction, but would still rather prefer not to be in a situation where they might try to start a conversation/ask me out/etc.

I also just like getting my own gas, if I want to round it up to the nearest 10 cents one time, or the nearest dollar the next, I can make that decision myself after seeing where the price is at when the auto pump shuts off. I have mild OCD when it comes to numbers as well.

Anyone else anxiously waiting for that Vicky batch to get fixed? For a second I saw a different error message and thought they might be fixing it but not yet.

She dropped a different one at 3 in the freaking morning and I happened to still be up, got about 100 of em before I passed out.
