Scrolled back to see what I'd missed and saw this. I didn't get a reject, but it definitely looks like an error on their part. They either erroneously sent you the first email, or erroneously rejected ya. If I were you (which would probably mean I'd be taller) I would definitely message them with a screenshot of both emails, ask for clarification, and make an appeal. I would very politely point out that their error should not negatively impact my account, or some such similar argument. 60% of the time, it works every time. Good luck in getting it sorted!

That is a question for the ages, as I've seen some strange jibblies but I've never seen a pair that had facial features. I suppose it would depend on if the smiles were naturally supposed to face inward or if they are supposed to face outward, I guess...? I would ask each of them, but that seems rude.
