Exactly. That's outrageous.
Considered CO, considered Las Vegas, considered Canada. It's just not where my long term future is, being in WA.

It's going up in Las Vegas, too (I believe rent prices rose something like 6% last year.) It won't be long till it's not much different between here and WA. Thankfully, I only rent a room here, so my cost of living is low.

Just returned a survey after 10 minutes because at the end of it, the demographic question about my age had a scale which ended short of my age. There was no age requirement listed in the description....Should I have just checked the highest value? it was 5 years younger than I actually am...Does anyone else have this problem? So irritating...

If you are sure there was nothing indicating a maximum age, yeah, I would have just ticked the highest and submitted.

I have goals I haven't met yet, but I'm slowly getting closer. Kind of hopes for a shorter process but I've been drawn away by events a lot, that doesn't just cut down my dailies and weeklies it slows the process by which I learn and get new quals. :/

BUT technically it looks like I will be making more this month than last in less hours, and that's part of my goal as well, so that part is going well!

Yeah, it's really not as bad as I initially thought it would be. The weather took some adjustment for sure, but I'm learning to tolerate it.

LOL 1 bedroom in my neighborhood - IIRC from the other day it's much more expensive in Portland and Seattle and I already know it is in the Bay Area in CA.

Mind you, Hong Kong. I think the average there is $3700.

Would strongly advise moving north if you can at all. My mom pays the same rent on her two-bed manufactured home in Tallahassee that I do on my *room* in Seattle.

edited because why not: I knew I was in trouble when I first moved here, was staying with the family that was still here at the time, and the neighbors were talking about the new cheap studios being built a few miles away.

"How much?" I stupidly asked. "Oh, only about $1500," they replied.

(and that was cheap. As in, they were visibly surprised that studios could go for so little. And this was about a year and a half ago.)

I was renting a 600 sq ft 1br apartment in downtown San Jose about 8 years ago for $1,300. It's up to $2,400 now.

Seeing these prices you guys are posting on rent makes me feel even more like my fiance and I got a steal on our house lol but we also bought a fixer upper so that made it cheaper... and it's buying vs. renting...
