ah, I see. I am lucky enough that my state doesn't have income tax.

I am amazed by the differences in taxation among the states. For 2 years, I had an investment in an oil and gas pipeline company set up as a master limited partnership and each of those years I had to look into filing taxes in 25 states because I had income of 25 cents to 3 bucks in varying states. Some states were good - no required personal income tax filing if your income was less than $500 or so.

I think I had to file in about 16 states where filing was required even if it was just a penny of income. Good news is that the tax forms and instructions for the states were online and it only took about 20 minutes per state to fill out and I don't recall owing any tax because of the micro amounts that were taxable. The worst tax form states I remember is New York and California. Luckily that investment changed to a more normal form of company instead of being a MLP so they handle taxes to all those individual states and I only have to pay dividend tax on my federal form and in just on my state income tax form.

I tried to work the HIT in which you call a number, the one dealing with elderly care. I was accepted, called the number, and I answered a few questions. When he asked how long I've been taking care of my mom, I said around 10 years, but she just passed away four days ago. In fact, we buried her yesterday. He told me that I wasn't qualified for the HIT. There is no question that he could have asked, that I wouldn't have been able to answer. I could really have used that $10.00, especially since I don't even know where I'll be a month from now.

From AARP withdrawing $45.00 and making her account in the negative and refusing to reverse the charges, in spite of me telling them I would mail her last payment, (we had to remove her money to pay her bills and help pay for the funeral, before they froze her account) to Entergy (our electric compnay) doing the exact same thing, and now this? I feel so gd angry and hurt right now.

The world isn't nearly as sensitive to the death of loved ones as I used to think. It should be though. The only bright side for me was that I couldn't feel nearly as hurt while I was being angry. I was pretty torn up and having people to fight about things with helped me to see things through until the funeral. Oddly enough that was two years ago today.
I took care of my Mom for the last nine months during in home hospice so there's a good chance that I can relate to some of what you're feeling right now. You can inbox me if you'd like.

I just read reviews for a HIT I completed, and they mention an AC...but I don't remember seeing an AC

Maybe you have ascended to proturker and just subconsciously answer ACs.

I think they were saying that their schedule allows them to better manage the hits over weekends.
