So I presume he uses TriCare? If so, I hope it's better than the VHA system (which I used to love, but no longer do).

It also rewards you for being poor...if you can get medicaid cause you're like unemployed or whatever they won't come after you for medical bills but the minute you have insurance watch out.

oh yeah, the last time was 4 years ago, they're all in collections now. He was forced to retire during the 2nd bout of cancer so he's on SSDI, there's not really anything they can sue him for.

Ah ok, I know if you have a job they'll sue you to basically garnish your wages. Pretty crazy they can get a court to just jack your paycheck over a medical bill like it's child support or something.
