65% of everyone in the U.S. who declares bankruptcy does so because of medical bills such as this. We do need a better system and I'm (as a conservative) am all in favor of one.
my fairly conservative boyfriend is all about better healthcare. he's military and hates that I have spent soooo much on healthcare after my pricey health insurance.

So I presume he uses TriCare? If so, I hope it's better than the VHA system (which I used to love, but no longer do).

OMG i actually almost messaged you to ask if you did it and if it made you feel like the math hit yesterday. I'm like you with math.
LOL a little bit, it's pretty nonsensical to me. I'm interested if math able folk are like "Duh it's so easy" it's honestly like... gibberish to me :grimace:

My dad had perfect credit until he got cancer 3 times in 4 years. Now he's over $100k in debt and his credit is wrecked. :(
It's pretty terrible, have them sent him to creditors?

Some will sue you and some won't...it's weird.

It also rewards you for being poor...if you can get medicaid cause you're like unemployed or whatever they won't come after you for medical bills but the minute you have insurance watch out.

oh yeah, the last time was 4 years ago, they're all in collections now. He was forced to retire during the 2nd bout of cancer so he's on SSDI, there's not really anything they can sue him for.

Ah ok, I know if you have a job they'll sue you to basically garnish your wages. Pretty crazy they can get a court to just jack your paycheck over a medical bill like it's child support or something.
