Lovely state. Tripped up there once or twice when I was stationed at Ft. Meade in MD.
That's where my fiance was before he got out of the Army. It's also where he currently works at.

What is audiokite?
It's a music rating service run via Reverb.com where you listen to some music that ranges from fairly professionally produced to sounding like it was recorded on a Nokia phone in a middle school bathroom. It doesn't pay well, but it's sometimes entertaining, and fairly constant throughout the day.

Title: Listen to a indie-alternative song and answer a survey about it. | PANDA
Requester: AudioKite
Average Hourly Rate: 6.98/hr
Time: 60 minutes
HITs Available: 1
Reward: $0.13

If you don't mind me asking, how did you end up out in the desert? Were you from there originally, or did end up stationed out there and then stay?
~2005, was living in San Diego and had my first clinical depressions. I was "homeless" and had a job at an AM/PM and started suffering anxiety attacks. My best friend saw how bad off I was and so told me I needed to get out of the city. At the time, I still knew a girlfriend of mine from the 1980s, and she said, "Well, why don't you move out to Desert Center? I'll find you a place to live and find you some kind of work." I had already visited Desert Center and sworn I would never live there. (BTW, ex-girlfriends family *owns* the town.)

So, here I am, in the armpit of the U.S. (aside from El Paso, TX).

I'm sick too but I sound like a person who has been smoking for 30 years and I'm achy all over. People are walking through my rental today (landlord sold it and and there's a new buyer) so the house has to be clean and kids' conferences are tonight. Sigh.

That's one heck of a story! Thank you for sharing it. That sounds like it came right out of a good novel or film.

I think it maybe needed a happier ending, instead of, "And then Christopher Steele became an unsuccessful ... Turkerperson!" I guess I should add a grin to that, so :)
