I agree. I usually offer my parents money to watch my kids even though they don't need it, and say thank you every time. Maybe tell her that if she "doesn't know" when she's picking up her kid, tell her that you "don't know" the next time you'll be able to watch her.

P.S. My parents didn't go to my son's school Christmas concert because they went to the casino. I know I asked kind of short notice, like a few days before, but seriously?
I think the biggest issue that we all deal with as we mature into adulthood is realizing what incredibly selfish assholes our parents actually were all along. lol

I cannot believe that Megan Hirsch Understanding Disordered Speech 5 dollar hit approved. I thought all that gibberish I translated would surely get me a reject.

My daughter started doing the same thing about about the same age! We got in touch with a speech therapist who said its pretty common for kids around that age (especially ones who started talking early or liked to talk a lot). She said its mostly because the thought is formed in their head but they don't slow down to think about how to communicate it. Like they just want all their words out at once that their brain can't keep up.

We met with a therapist for like 2-3 months and she focused a lot on helping our daughter essentially take a breath and think about what she wanted to say. She also gave my wife and I some tips about how we can help her too. She is turning 5 next week and we haven't had any issues since then.

Reading your comments sounds almost exactly like our experience.
I literally still do this all the time as a 28 year old. I can't slow down and then I forget or the wrong words come out. It stresses me out.
