What's the difference between vanilla and cream?

Looking at the IBC and A&W ingredients labels, not much besides A&W using vanilla extract. Both probably have vanilla flavorings covered in "natural and artificial flavors" ingredients.

I don't like cream soda, and I usually associate it with one of my grandmas, since she was the only person I ever knew who drank the stuff.
