Agree. She destroyed Serena. I had never seen someone do that to her.

During the match I was like she looks like Nadal our here. She was unbelievably quick today.

37 - she's over the hill

It’s weird though. Serena has made the last 3 of 4 women’s grand slam finals, but she’s been demolished in all 3 of those finals. She hasn’t won a set in those matches. she also hadn’t faced a player of Halep’s talent in the tournament before today so eh

it’s hard to say about Serena rn. I don’t think she’s 100% into tennis rn. especially since getting married and having a kid. which is understandable

i also think her talent has tipped quite a bit. which is also understandable since she’s getting older

but she keeps reaching Grand Slam finals which is a little puzzling. I know her draw in this tournament was easy

I forget what her draws were like in the other two grand slam finals she made the last year

she had a perfect opportunity today to reach the grand slam record. despite how good Halep is

i don’t know if she’ll ever win that last eluding grand slam title

she keeps putting herself in good opportunities...
but it’s like she goes physically and mentally blank when she reaches the final stage to grab said opportunity

you’re right about stamina. she also doesn’t move well at all. she relies on her power to win.

and yeah my last straw with Serena was the US Open last year when she made a complete fool of herself imo
