I have so many feelings about turning 30 in October. Feels like a milestone age.

i know people irl and on here who have told me it's just another number
and that's probably how i'll feel when i'm older as well about 30
but in the present
it still feels stressful

in my head... a kid, family and house is all going to happen before i'm 40
will it? who knows.
maybe not.
maybe so.

maybe i'm delusional.

the house part will definitely happen.

but the wife and kid...
i don't know.

i'm rounding a few days and considering myself 30 already

As an elderly person (31) who was terrified of turning 30 I can reassure you both that so far your 30s kick infinitely more ass than your 20s

the option to have choices
well in some areas of the planet.
some countries are bad to live in.

Like with kids, I always knew I didn't want any, and everyone said "aaah you'll meet the one and change your mind" then "you'll get married and change your mind" then "you'll have nieces and nephews and change your mind" and - shock ending - I didn't change my mind. In fact all of those things convinced me I didn't want it - I love my nephews to death, but I really like handing them back to my brother. I'd rather be a fucking great aunt than a mediocre mother. It's just too big a risk for something I've never wanted.

Idk what point I was getting at but yeah societal norms can fuck off. And it's my pleasure to have shared a gif that resonates so well with the corner

As someone who is over 40, turning 30 did not bother me but 40 did. A guy who was 70 at work told me the only time he was bothered by getting older was when he turned 40. Oddly enough I think I am happier at 41 than 31, so go figure.
