I ended up going to bed early last night and not waking up until normal time to wake up this morning, so i'll take that as a win. I'm ready for a decent day hopefully now since the holiday is over.

I just read the entire Southern Reach trilogy. It was a very intriguing read, certainly Anthropocene themes, among others. I am currently in the process of reading The Waste Tide, which so far is okay, but a little culturally dense for me at the moment.

first day of the carpool and this year I have two boys and one girl (plus my daughter).
This is the first year I've had two teenage boys in the backseat. And,
I hate to be all sexist
but
OMG I had to turn on the AC to get.....um......some 'fresh' air in the car.

Thanks! I'll check out the previews for those. I have "The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal," by Christopher Moore in book form, but I haven't had time to sit down and read it yet. I bet all of the ones you listed would be great to listen to on audible!

Youre welcome! I just discovered Christopher Moore and I really like his work so far. Its funny and he cusses which I appreciate bc I feel like a lot of authors try to stay away from doing that but imo it makes the characters more real.

Every morning before my 15 year old son leaves for school I ask, "Did you take a shower? Wash your hair? Put on deodorant? Wash your face? Brush your teeth?" I never had to do that with with my 16 girl or my 20 year old son (although my 20 year old thought it was okay to bathe in Axe....it was awful)

My step son is only 10 and we have already bought him deodorant. We have to remind him and his 8 year old brother to scrub their good feet in the shower. Boys are gross. Mine is 2 years old. I'm dreading them all being teenagers lol

Indeed it is. The first book is a breeze, relatively short too. It's a little science-fiction, but not overbearing.

That's another reason (on top of the obvious) on why I never understood those female teachers going after 15 year old boys. It's like uhhhhhhhhhhhh besides that's illegal and gross because they are still kids CANT YOU SMELL THEM.
