Why do they always ask, "what do you think is the purpose of this study?" WHO GIVES A ****? This makes absolutely no difference whatsoever to their research.

What, they're gonna toss it if we can guess what they are up to?

They're just wasting our time.

I forgot what the term is but there's a term in research studies that occurs when the subject thinks they figured out the study and starts to answer in a way that they think the researches want them to (like they "figured out" the study) so this question is more or less trying to find out if you figured out what the researchers are hypothesizing and if you did they can apply that to your responses to see if you acted differently because of that.
