Requester: Decisions Lab - Johns Hopkins University [A1JH5A1IEVG789] [
TurkerView]
Description: This experiment is conducted by researchers at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. We are interested in understanding how managers process information when making decisions about who to hire to join their business or company. You will be asked to review different profiles of (simulated) job applicants, each with the following information: the monetary value that the applicant may bring to your business (considered your potential earning), the probability that this applicant will bring in that value (considered your likelihood of getting the potential earnings), and the cost of hiring this applicant. Based on this information, you will be asked to decide if you would like to hire the job applicant to join your team and business. It is very important that you consider each applicant profile independently, based on the information that is provided for that applicant. Based on the information provided to you, you will accept (hire) or reject (not hire) each applicant. You will be paid $10 for completing the study (experiment and post-experiment survey). We estimate that it will take 30 - 45 minutes to complete the study. You will also have the chance to get additional compensation (bonus), based on your decisions during the experiment.
