My husband grew up in a terrible and horrific life. He never had a soul to teach him money management, or anything good for that matter. His kindness and good heart, as well as all his other wonderful qualities, I'll never understand how he got them all growing up the way he did. His poor money judgement has gotten better over the years, but we still have a long way to go.
That being said, opening up another account would be fine, as long as I can transfer money from mine to his account for free. And without all the crazy fees. ?

My husband and I both have our own bank accounts with Simple, and the transfers between the accounts are instant and free. It's an online bank so we also have a traditional bank account that we use to pay our main bills, but the Simple accounts have helped a lot with money management. I like having multiple accounts for different purposes though.

yeah I don't understand what purpose that even serves.

I'm thinking it gives Amazon two days to fix something if there is an issue between "approved" and "paid" status or else some requesters are deadbeats on paying once they approve, but I was under the impression they need to deposit money into a holding account to cover the fees of posting and payments to turkers.

btw, I highly recommend camelcamelcamel. If you see something you want on amazon but can wait to get it, you can use that site to see what the prices of that item have been in the recent past and even set an alert to get an email if the price reaches what you set the alert for.
