My husband grew up in a terrible and horrific life. He never had a soul to teach him money management, or anything good for that matter. His kindness and good heart, as well as all his other wonderful qualities, I'll never understand how he got them all growing up the way he did. His poor money judgement has gotten better over the years, but we still have a long way to go.
That being said, opening up another account would be fine, as long as I can transfer money from mine to his account for free. And without all the crazy fees. ?

sry to hear that. I don't think my wife had to go through many hardships, but I recall her saying how her mom had to hide money that she got from her from job from the dad so that she could buy new work clothes and school clothes for my wife and her brother. My wife's dad 'needed' to buy the newest bose (why!?) system every year, etc. He basically taught my wife to "put it on a card and pay the minimum" (and we're paying for it now 10 years later).

Anyway, Ally is generally great about fees, and ACH transfers are either free or like $2-3. You could also just write a check and mobile deposit to whatever bank you have or use venmo or some other cash app. Might be something to think about
