Has Victoria not posted in a while? I've been wanting a good batch to work on lately but can't seem to find anything worth doing, and she was always my go-to.

It's always worked for me. I just send a little message apologizing and most shoot me back a reply that they found and approved it with no problem. I'm sure they'd rather me do this and be honest than try to rush through the last few minutes just to beat the timer.

Edit: I read this wrong. But, I have messaged before explaining that I ran out of time at the end and as long as they can actually track down my data, I've had some create a dummy HIT for me. Always worth a shot.

I would also throw in the suggestion to take whatever screenshots (completion code page, final submission page, etc.) you can so that you have some tangible evidence that you can present if needed.

I know a lot of people have problems linking new accounts, which is pretty much why I've never changed mine even though i want to. I "think" @MinkyMona was having this problem the other day when she added a new account . She might be able to tell you how she got it taken care of.

You're correct. I have yet to find a solution. Amazon Payments just keeps sending me generic emails telling me to upload a statement to verify the account. The account is already listed as verified so I have no clue wtf they want. The account is brand new so I don't have a statement and they won't accept a direct deposit slip (even though it includes all the details they are wanting plus it was good enough for my first bank account I added 400 years ago lol).
