Her argument is that if you end up getting hit by some huge health crisis or have to pay $500,000 a year (lol) to take care of an disabled parent it won't be enough.

So yes, if you get hit by some disaster having a fuckton of extra money would be nice. But that's not realistic for most people and just never retiring out of fear of a disaster would be unwise IMO, assuming you have 2 million in the bank and want to do so.
