Yeah, there's a local hawk that watches over my birds and gets them freaked/ my roo on high-alert for the rest of the day. He and my lead hen duck always get everyone to safety, but that fucking hawk doesn't even care if I'm out there staring him down. :/

Yeah, we had a fox wiggle open the latches to our coop once, lost everyone but my roo and my ducks. Now we've added EIGHT more latches in various styles, those little fucks can't figure them all out, but I'm still pretty anti-fox now. So I understand. We just can't legally do anything to/about the hawks :/

We lost six hens to a fox about two years ago. It almost killed my female duck, but she eventually recovered.

But then he has the nerve to tell me about watching a hawk swoop down and grab a bird while he watched. yeah man, circle of life.

Hawks are the greatest thing. The neighborhood used to be overrun with doves. After a hawk took up watch in the neighborhood and killed two doves, there are far fewer doves in the area. I'm just trying to figure out if they prey on humans as in the summer i like my outdoor final 2 hours of sunlight time and wonder if the hawk resting on the power line is a threat to swoop down and attack me. So far it hasn't but it is always on my mind when i see it.
