glad i'm not the only old fart around here. The young whippersnappers probably have no clue who Tom is."i know. Jim is the new "Tom". "

Time to be controlling. If you don't your future MIL may not be your MIL. You need them to leave....but since they've obviously moved in to stay--or run you off--start painting and tell them that, since they're family, they're going to help. Hand them a brush. Expect them to: a. leave(good outcome), b. f it up intentionally(ammunition for all forthcoming holidays dinner discussions) , c. shut up and paint(not likely). You need to make clear to them that how you and your SO live your lives is your business. As well as what color you paint the walls. Beats climbing the walls.
shocking they were still around by the time you got an account. they are the role model in why i don't invest in social networks because you can be monster one day and who cares very quickly when the next thing like facebook comes along.Oh c'mon Tom was my friend

Having said all of this, which is not my business to comment on, I never said much in the family. But when I did, they all hustled. Everybody knew I meant it. No argument.
I'm glad for you. If he's what you want hang in there. She'll come around..or not..that's up to her---and her problem, not your's......Do we all get to dance at the wedding? Will there be really good cake? Not one o' those silly cakes, but a big white cake with butter cream frosting......now I've done it! I want cake now.I'm getting better at standing up for myself but I've mostly just been hiding because the time was coming to a close and I didn't want to cause ruffled feathers. SO has said just as much, if they don't like it they don't need to talk to us. He is stressed because he can't be here to mediate the situation, and we all knew it wasn't ideal. They were moving back from overseas and it was the most sensical set up. We have plenty of room, it's just incredibly frustrating and she's very controlling of her baby boy and his life. She called him single and very much disrespected my place in life the other night, and luckily her husband stepped in for me. I'm not sure why mothers want their grown children to stay single forever, it seems like such a bad play. We're both almost 30, it's not like we are babies. I'm not going anywhere, marriage is going to be soon at this rate, and she doesn't seem to want to accept that. There will be rude awakenings for her when he comes home this summer.
