One of the biggest disappointments of my day was that my closest McDonald's did not participate in the Monday Lent Filet of Fish $1.99 meal deal - quite odd as it is a very Catholic area. I refused to give in and buy the full price meal, refused, and I am still craving one hours later.

This sounds like one of those incidents where you shoot yourself in the foot to avoid military service..and then have to walk home.

wasn't available to order in the app so I was starting to question the deal.

it makes more sense to be friday as that is when i see the fish deals (grocery store has half-priced alaska fillet fish sandwiches in the deli-to-go section) but I doubt McDonalds would run this deal on Friday as that is when my nearby mcdonalds seems like it is the busiest so why offer the deal when many customers would likely buy that at full price that night?

you can keep an eye on the app - might be able to find a discount or bogo on filet-o-fish more often now that we are in lent season. you can probably also get it if the 2-for-5 deal is still an active promotion.
