Went to do my weekly shopping a few hours ago and about to eat a somewhat early lunch.

First day of early voting is today and am working the afternoon shift. Lot of changes in general and also due to covid-19. First time doing early voting as the head election worker (though worked early voting in other positions at the same location), so having a mix of first-time jitters and trying to "grab the bull by its horns".

My biggest worry is that there are going to be a lot of people coming in and needing to do a special ballot because the absentee ballot tracking system has such a backlog. People aren't able to tell if their request has been received in the first place, can't tell if their ballot has been mailed out if their request was accepted and sent out to them, or if their voted absentee ballot has been received and accepted. It's the easiest/fastest Special Ballot reason to handle, but still takes longer than a regular ballot.
