Mechanical Turk Suspensions and General Speculation

Hello,
This morning I did receive the following message. I have been with Mturk for the last 60-90 days and performed nearly 1000 tasks with the approval rate is above 95%. I always used Mturk tasks with the best of my ability and answer as best as I can using human intelligence task. Has anyone got this error and is it possible to restore the account?

did you read through the thread? One problem is that you might need to verify some of your information. What else did they say?

I did read the threads but could not find relevant answers. I am just wondering has anyone able to restore their account after they got the above error? My account is in good standing and i earned more than $300

oh. well, that's worse than just needing info. You'll have to do your best to try to get them to review your account and give you more details (what do they mean).

They are saying they you used scripts that violated their TOS (some scripts are fine, others not). But the key is to get them to review it - often (?) sometimes (?) they reverse the decision when they investigate further. You'll have to be polite but persistent.

Can you list all your scripts one by one so we can see which the rogue one may be ? 99% of scripts out there are safe and does not break any TOS from my experience

What is meant by persistence? I got suspended a few days ago along with a few others. Already filled out the contact form and got the generic 'We'll look into this and get back to you'. Emailed jeff, emailed a few contacts of people who helped me so far. Hell someone who said they work with TO is offering help. Im basically extending my feelers out to anyone I can.

I remember you! So, I know you've been around forever. I don't have any great advice to share. I wish I did.

As you know, there seemed to be a period in there where amazon was trying to respond (and restored accounts). I don't know what they are doing now. And even then, I never had first hand infor. I just knew what I heard from the boards. I really hope you find a way to get your account back

Hello everyone,

Read all the posts here, and feel happy that I am not alone. My account got suspended around 10 days ago stating that "I have multiple accounts" which I never had :|

Support is giving generic responses that they are still reviewing my account. I have around $400 in my account and I am worried a lot. Can someone please help??

You will likely get that money back (this usually happens). But as for your account - I'd continue to send polite emails about your account (that you did not have multiple accounts). Often people DO get their accounts back after they investigate. But be persistent, professional, and polite. The hopeful thing is that they are investigating. But don't give up!

Some of the folks who most recently lost their accounts in this thread also got them back. There is no way to predict Amazon, but persistence can pays off.

Hello,

My name is Praveen Kumar. My mturk account was suspended on june 24, 2020. On 6 july, 2020 it was permanently disabled stating a generic kind of message that you all aware of.

Initially they sent a notice containing message that " my account is related to another account that was closed for violation of participation agreement.... " .

Now I'm telling you guys why I think this happened.

I got a message from a guy named James Neagley after completing a survey posted by him that he has granted me a qualification for next batch of hits and he will pay me $0.71 for every single hit. And also hits were not very difficult to do. They were very easy and very few people were working on those hits.

After completing 176 hits from this guy ( in 3 separate batches ), my mturk account was disabled on fourth day.

I explained my problem to mturk support team that my mturk account is suspended in error. I didn't told them about this fraud requester. Just told them that I don't what happened and please activate my account.

Another day, another round of suspensions. They all seem to be related to the VSR requester. Once anyone(?) gets unsuspended and is willing to share details, I will update this with that information.

They gave you the reason:

"Specifically, your account was closed for repeatedly failing to use your human intelligence and independent judgment to conscientiously complete HITs for Requesters. "

What that means to me is that your responses are out of what most people would consider "normal" or you are using some automated way to respond to tasks. Or it could be that the system is messed up and you did nothing wrong and need to appeal your suspended account.
Only you know how you work for TURK and if it's legal under the TOS.

I'm sorry, there's not really anything we can do. You have to contact Amazon and ask them to reinstate your account. Obviously, that's not something that's easy to do, but I would suggest you just keep trying till you can get through to a real person. They're the only ones with the power to do anything.

I registered for Mturk, I currently live in the UK for study purposes, but I am a Zimbabwean. I have a Biometric residence permit which allows me to study and work in the UK. On my registration I wrote my Citizenship as Zimbabwe and current country as the UK. My account was approved and I was asked to verify identity. I was confused which document to put, My national ID or the Biometric card, I decided to put my national ID.After that I got an email stating that I am suspended because they were not able to verify the id that I provided because it did not match the information provided to you during registration and tax process as a result my account cannot be opened. Please help me, I really need this if there is anything at all that I could do to reverse this please .

Just got this email kinda sucks when you give them this info when you sign up and they just banned you for no reason but my amazon account works no problem just my mturk account dead.
