to each his own. But the batches definitely tend to smooth the bumps in the earnings curve on mturk. Most of the higher earners on mturk do batches as a mainstay
What if you make a systematic error on such a batch, and you receive 1500 rejections?

plus, batches help get one's count up so that in the event of rejections your rejection percentage is not enough to get your account killed off. I like doing batches especially when there's not much thought needed for them.

in a batch like this, if you receive 1500 rejections, you either paid no instructions to the very simple instructions or there's something wrong with the AI that is grading the hits.

if you have enough of a cushion (in terms of hits accepted) the risk is worth it. I've got hundreds of thousands of accepted hits at this stage - so even if I got mass rejected, I'd be fine. 1500 hits rejected wouldn't move me one bit.

But you have to make that calculation based on YOUR numbers. There's always a bit of risk w/mturk.

exactly. i've got 104 rejections that I still hate seeing but they didn't hurt me. The requestor who rejected them hasn't been on mturk for a few years now and i gave up fighting him to get them reversed. So.. annoyed they're there? yup. put me in any danger of losing my years old account? nah.

I've been turking 15 years and it's never happened in that big a batch. If I sense something's off, or instructions aren't that clear, I'll do a few hundred and see if they approve before I do more. I have 1.2 million hits, so I can take a 1500 hit rejection and still stay well above 99%. I've had mass rejections on like 3 batches ever. With that much padding, I can do batches that have no rating - some of those are the best paid batches I've done - Oh well, back to coding R for the $300 hit. Looks like about 5-6 hours of work total

Oh wow! Is this the Wittgenstein that used to post the 25 cent hits where you had to describe the positioning of the 3 dimensional shapes? The name seems familiar.

these are really simple hits. i've been doing 10 or so at a time so i don't miss other hits that might come in.. I just finished the $8 robot vacuum one that's been floating around all week so i'll go back and do more of these.

There were still 40k left-I think they just expired, because the end time was 5pm EST. Requester only had a timer on them for being up for `~5hrs.
