For a training role?? That's idiotic. I applied for multiple training roles throughout last year and never once had questions or requirements like that. I'd steer clear of that one. Sounds like the training department there has someone who has read a lot of training books and has never actually trained anyone. I had a training manager like that once years ago. My team trained all that junk out of her though so in the end she turned out to be pretty great once we were able to get her to understand reality versus theory.

I think that's what I'm running into. Per the counselor I've been assigned, it's mandatory but paid. I've emailed back asking about what happens if someone tests beyond the class levels and how are we to show improvement in that case, given improvement is required to keep from being dropped. I pointed out I've taken & passed multiple college classes in those subjects so what am I supposed to get out of going over basic skills again?

Probably will have to make a decision how much busy work I'm willing to do for this. I could get the certification on my own, honestly. But there's a $2500 stipend for doing it through the city and well...money is nice.
