I'm an a-hole, put my phone down on the table on top of a pile of dish towels and placemats. While I was checking something, it fell to the floor and broke the screen ...now it's useless. I really really REALLY need to buy those screen protectors. That was money I was not planning on spending this week

I use a bumper case - it's kinda rubbery and extends over the edges of the phone screen so when dropped the screen never hits anything (and I've dropped it plenty) - similar case for kindle - no messing with applying a protector and interfering with touch screen

I got mine on Amazon though the brand I bought, Ansiwee, doesn't seem to be carried any longer. TPU bumper case brings ups some other brands.
