what type AC did you end up getting?

just a window unit (an LG). It was just over 200.00. I didn't even set it up properly (I need some wood cut to the window). I might just not do that at all - toss it in when it's hot - and take it out when it's not. Mostly, it's in the low 80's and at night it goes down to the 50's or 60's.
