This is what it sounds like when doves cry.The Mturk community would make a fascinating anthropology project some day. Because the worker community has essentially taken it upon itself to improve the Mturk platform waaaaay more than Amazon ever did. Workers are also the primary source of information for requesters... because Amazon doesn't put any effort in to educating them, or worse, just flat out lies to them.
I opened Mturk in the wrong browser the other day and I was all freaked out because I had forgotten what the default dashboard looks like. I'm so used to having HIT DB and WCS and my pending earnings on display that I thought something was broken at first.
Kind of reminds me of the modding community on video games... where a company drops out a game that's kind of basically OK, and then the modding community shows up and makes more content than the original publisher. Better content, too.
Wait... so it isn't the same guy? Wow... crazy that they had two big things like that today so close. Makes you wonder how much happens that you don't hear about!yep. this one is 20 minutes away I think the other was about 45

Well, only I do the surveys and he does the easy batch stuff once and awhile. The speed I go compared to him.. I don't think anyone will notice/care *knock on wood*Seriously.

nope completely unrelated incidents. It was certainly a busy newsday.Wait... so it isn't the same guy? Wow... crazy that they had two big things like that today so close. Makes you wonder how much happens that you don't hear about!
was trying to respond to @Aydiarose post but screwed up.My friend was lamenting that she's on call this weekend (psych hospital) the weekend of the kickoff to derby festivities and it's a full moon. No partying for her Saturday, looks like she'll be DD. Poor thing.
I been doing Turk since 2010-2013 just doing random stuff. 2014-2015 I learned about refresher and made 1000x more. Just 4 months ago I learned about forums and scripts. I project I might double my pay rate. Amazon has not helped me one bit... except making the platformYes. I do think that is true.
The scripts don't make learning any easier... they make the work easier and more profitable. That isn't an insignificant thing. Having better tools for parsing out the hits makes it easier and more profitable. Things like turkmaster have made catching hits very much easier than the older manual ways we started with... having tools like scraper to keep an eye on what is posting... and tools like hitmonitor to instantly notify you when good work posts. Those things are not insignificant... they are very very significant and contribute a great deal to the ease with which a person can achieve success.
People still need to learn other things... but don't devalue the work the community has put in to make the turking life easier, more profitable, and less frustrating.
If people ask me what sites I work for I'll give them mtruk.com and bet myself $10 they'll give up in a week.I don't talk about MTurk
