That's very interesting, how does it compare to Mturk in terms of pay?
For me, it's easier than searching mturk for HITs, but I'm a terrible turker. My research+writing hourly wage is ~$9-10/hour on Textbroker at my current rating level (4 stars out of 5); if the editors would ever get off their ass and rate me at 5 stars the per-word rate goes up to a nickel a word. Or if I could get DirectOrders, I could be making double that.

ETA: here's their pay rates page. I was given a 4 star rating on my sample when I signed up. It helps to be aware of AP style guides, too, since they're sticklers for it.

I'm going to try to look into that TBH, even $4 an hour would be probably more than what I average on Mturk(also a bad turker, probably some ADD thing)

Is textbroker pretty much open to anyone or do I need an invite?

You need to write a sample and wait for them to rate it and approve it before you can do jobs. It took over a week for them to rate me after I signed up. If you want to mention me for referring you, I'll PM you my email address, but I don't think that will help or hurt you either way. :)
