Always see what your keyboard commands might do. Those standard audio players will play with the spacebar when they're the active element, so to speed those up you can use that.
Space to start, tab into the text field. If you need to play it again, shift-tab up and space to play it again, tab back down and the cursor is right where you left it.
AHK that and you save yourself a couple of seconds a HIT, at least.
