I heard that mturk is now letting in workers from other countries. Is this true? If this is true, is there gonna be a cap on how many foreign workers get into acceptance?

I'm worried that by letting in a lot of new workers, esp. if they're coming from third world countries, then requesters can just drop their prices to whatever ridiculous amount and some people will still do them

Does anyone have any more info on this?

They let some international workers in recently, but they applied awhile ago. Recent international workers trying to register got denied. We will never know any information regarding a cap.

Several Canadians and Europeans who applied years ago were recently given worker accounts (after being asked to provide verification to AMT).

AFAIK, they haven't opened up again to workers from India.

I know some of us are probably joking but seriously, don't do these unless you have the accent it's not cool. Don't screw over requesters at all, but especially the good ones.

I think its great that people from other countries have an opportunity to earn money. It could help out economies in other countries that aren't as fortunate as America's

I think many people have different opinions on this - it's a pretty heated topic. If you want to discuss it more, and others are willing, you should take it to another forum (and make a thread). It's too much for the work thread.
