I don't think they are assholes. They are just cautious and scared. They get scammed a lot.
Also sometimes they don't know the right way to ask for information. They say "pick up the brick" expecting us to know which one, when there are 20 bricks around.

Yea all the big money Daemo HITs used to be posted under HCI.
Then they moved them to Percy Liang and moved the Joy O Kim writing HITs to HCI.
In short, it's all one clusterf**k.
