That does NOT sound like a survey I want to do...
Without discussing too much, it's because it asked me to visualize something that is more upsetting to me than most people. Hooray for begging to not be prescribed xanax anymore and then needing it lol

I hate the visualizing shit. I'll save that stuff for therapy. Good call on the Xanax probably because that stuff is addictive as hell. Not saying it can't be a helpful tool but it scares me a bit.

It's not an addiction thing. It was that literally all meds in that class sedate me like fucking hell. Xanax (fast-acting) fucks with my cognition and my awakeness for 24 hours, but it's the LEAST severe of all the other ones I've taken. I metabolize slow and am super med sensitive, and I have a lot of weird med allergies. I just didn't want to have it anymore because I hated feeling so impaired for so long. Rather deal with the panic attack.

Have you tried neurontin? It worked pretty well for me. I switched to betablockers - which keeps that fight/flight feeling (that I have pretty much 24/7) at bay. My doc tried me on buspar before moving to benzos. buspar is supposed to be better (all the pros, none of the cons) but it made me woozy as hell. (I forgot we had a pro here! :) jan @jan )

Meditation at this point I've put strictly in the woo-woo bullshit spot for me. It doesn't do anything good. It makes me intensely hyper aware and make my anxiety worse, not better.
I've found exactly 0 techniques that work so far. Been in therapy and psych treatment for 6 years. I've been guinea pigged on a shit ton of stuff. I think I'll be okay lol
Was just cus I felt i should clarify the $1.50 was actually able to be earned shorter......shouldn't have included why I guess.

I'm on neurontin for pain. It does exactly 0 for anxiety. I'm on it for fibro pains (neuropathic) and I'm still taking extra pain killers for physical pain that isn't neuropathic when I can. It's the most fun thing ever.

same. even marijuana can go either way. it will either calm me, or it will amplify my anxiety and the sensations associated with it.)
