Well, after taxing my earnings at 20% for 2 months I managed to save $427. I hope I can keep doing this every month until the kids go to college! lol

If you expect to owe over $1000 in taxes after deductions during a given year you're supposed to file (and pay) quarterly.

Is it worth signing up at UPwork?

If you've been consistently writing for Tabelog, or if you want another place where you can find work, then definitely. The rough thing with Upwork is that you have to have a good rating in order to get a job on there, and you have to get work on there in order to get a good rating. However, I'm getting paid 50% more to write the same things I was writing before.

It makes sense - stuff here was really, imo, just place holders. The site needs to move up if it's ever going to be competitive. I'd be interested to see if it works out. IMO it would have been better to get what he needed upfront - but perhaps this is the model for an informational start-up. I'd be interested in seeing how it all works out. (And really interested to see the numbers! But, alas.............)
