On barcodes, is ebay an acceptable source?

I use any site that gives me a link for the barcode. Ebay included.

I've sent them messages through mturk multiple times about data mart websites and other such questionable returns... I've never gotten a reply.

Oh also! It's OK to check 'item not found' instead of returning.. I've never had one rejected.

Others have 'claimed' ebay was not an acceptable source but since nobody can get an answer from VSR nobody knows for sure.

(there's also those rumors that these can get masters revoked or your account suspended but nobody's clearly connected the two--just coincidences)
